Children are constantly shifting through loads of information- sight, sound, feelings, thoughts, memories, and more- and they are trying to figure our what is most "relevant" at that moment. 

They notice certain things and other things are less noticeable. What is most relevant changes depending on what the child desires, the social context, and their state of being at that given moment. 

This process happen continuously and automatically.

It is a fundamental process because it underlies the child's capacity to focus, motor plan and sequence, problem solve, understand themselves and others, learn, adapt and thrive in the environment.

It is a self-organize process and a core motivational feature for self-maintenance and self-propagation.

My goal in this book is to highlight a comprehensive social-developmental framework of child development and illustrate what is most important for child reproductive success in the home across the lifespan.

This book goes beyond stimulus-response reinforcement relationship and enters an active participation in fundamental child transformation through a top-down and bottom-up behavioral analysis.
